WARNING: certain characters swear a lot in this story and there will be violent chapters with a little bit of blood, and other mature things Melody was a normal girl, who worked at the Rose Tavern, in the harboured town of Trost, alongside her friends and family. She has been known for her musical talents and angelic beauty. Many men have been attracted to her, including Flegal Reeves, the son of Lord Reeves, the port master of Trost. However, Melody has turned them all down. Ever since her mothers disappearance at sea, she has become quiet an unsocial seventeen year old, and only interacts with her remaining friends and family, who work and live with her. She has been known to play songs at the tavern, attracting many people from far and wide, to listen to her enchanting singing voice and skilled guitar playing, keeping her fathers business alive. However, her life is turned upside down when a handsome stranger arrives at the tavern one day, and Melody notices a wanted sign with his face on it. Before she knows it, she is taken out to sea, by a band of pirates, who wish to sell her as a slave, Somehow, she ends up going on an adventurous voyage across the ocean making many friends and facing many challenges, including her worsening home sickness and nightmares. Even if you don't read the manga's or watch the anime's I suggest you read it since the only similarities will probably be the characters.

She cries when the prince takes her from the ruined castle, from the dragon who faithfully watched over her, kicks and screams and sobs for her beast, repeating her desperate plea to return to the place she has called home for more years than she can count ; 'I didn't need to be saved'. Court life stifles her, makes her want to scream until she has no energy left to fight, she flees to the gardens, running barefoot through fountains and flowerbeds, returning only when the guards come to seek her out, silk dresses torn, and covered in mud. Her dreams are of flying, of flames and smoke, and she longs for the nights when she could fall asleep with warm scales as her pillow, knowing nothing would dare to harm her while her dragon stands guard, but that world seems to belong to another girl now. Then a new knight appears in the court she so loathes, swearing his allegiance not to the prince, or to the person she can hardly think of as her father, but to her, and when his eyes meet hers she laughs for the first time since the prince brought her 'home', the fire in his gaze as familiar as her own. She'd recognise her dragon anywhere. this is a my first fairy tail fanfic and my second fanfic altogether, so I'm no expert. INSPIRED BY A COMIC.
