On the planet known as Methoria, there are three different kind of human-like creatures -- the Elementals, Non-Elementals, and the Shadows. The Elementals have the ability to control a single element (Air, Water, Earth and Fire), while the Shadows not only look different, but also possesses uncanny abilities such as manipulating shadow and darkness. Around 600 years ago, the once peaceful and otherwise friendly Shadows began attacking Elementals and Non-Elementals, turning into violent and heartless creatures. That marked the start of the First War. With the help of the Gifted Four, The King of Shadows was finally put into slumber, after 9 long years. While the First War has ended, it has changed many things, leaving Methoria in an unbalanced state. A shy soon-to-be thirteen year old girl, Irene Auxilius, has been accepted at Elemental Academy, the school where young Elementals discover their elements and learn the arts of wielding them.
