19-year-old John Laurens has been in college for four days before his roommate shows up. When John introduces himself, the boy doesn't say a word. So when Laurens asks for his name, he raises a hand and signs "Alexander Hamilton." This surprises Laurens just a bit, because this boy didn't look like the kind to remain silent. He's seen those people before, and the boy in front of him looks like he has a lot to say. But what's keeping him from speaking his mind?

Alexander, John, Hercules and Lafayette are happy. Aaron Burr is not. (Or, the one where Burr is in love with every member of the Revolutionary Squad and is dying inside.) Just a warning, this story is pretty heavy (at least in the beginning), and so if you're sensitive to topics like self hatred and depression, I don't recommend you read this story. It'll get fluffy later, I promise. Also, I'm sorry if the tense switches between chapters. I'm a bit of an inconsistent mess.
