Six queens, and only one can take the crown.❞ The rebellion might be over, but the realm of Etheron is still simmering and across the Warm Sea, the flame that might set it to boiling is biding her time. A novel of love, loss, and honour amidst the horrors of war and its aftermath. In the summer of 1916, Private Daniel Baker marches into battle with the boys of Nova Scotia’s 25th Battalion. Out of brutal necessity, Danny has steeled himself against the trials and horrors of war, but he is completely unprepared to meet the love of his life in war-torn France. Audrey Poulin has the soul of an artist. She lives alone with her grandmother in the quiet French countryside, where her only joy is in her brush and palette. When, by chance, she encounters Danny, the handsome young soldier captures her heart and inspires her painting. The young lovers believe that only together can they face the hardships the war brings. But love is just the beginning. Mere months later, Danny is gravely wounded at the Battle of the Somme, and his future is thrown into uncertainty. Soon, he and Audrey find themselves struggling to build a new life in Halifax, a city grieving its lost men. As the grey winter of 1917 sets in, Danny’s lack of purpose and Audrey’s isolation continue to mount, pulling the two apart just as a new catastrophe threatens their existence. Heartrending and enthralling, Tides of Honour is a novel of love and second chances set against Halifax’s most devastating moment of the First World War.

☆Highest Rating: #103 in HF!☆ A Retelling of WWII... with a twist. Principalities. Winged beings who have been bound to a people, a place, a culture and country from the moment their eyes opened to this earth, and doomed to fall with it. They feel the toils of war, and hear the words of all leadership. They exchange the secrets of their government when their rulers cannot. They whisper into the ears of the brightest what must be done. They are messengers, deliverers, saviors. Warriors. Arthur had decided he'd had enough of the other nations bickering, and unintentionally drawing themselves into more wars. So, in the late 1700s, he was granted leave. He tucked himself away in a church, feathers and all, to forget. But he could not forget the urge to fight, to be beside a king, and now, a Prime Minister. It is 1932 when Arthur allows himself to be drawn out of the shadows once more, word of an assassination in Austria causing tensions among the Nations to rise once more. Arthur stands to speak of his reasons for leaving, and vainly attempts to cast away any ideas of war. He fails. Now Arthur is thrown into a new century, with new weapons, and far many more ways to die. He must struggle to keep the human citizens closest to him safe, while also delivering aid to the other Nations who pleaded for his help at the beginning of the war. This will not be easy. And though he may be far beyond the grasp of death, there are many who are close who he cannot bear to lose. Even though a Principality cannot be easily killed, the concept of a global war is worse than death itself.
