After an apocalyptic event that thrusts the world into a new ice age, Calestia - a 17-year-old girl with a strong will - must learn to survive on a land infested with gangs, guns, and distrust. ***** Nobody knows what day it is anymore. Nobody knows the month, the day of the week...and the only way to tell time is by the slight change in the color of the sky from grey to black every twenty-four hours. If a day even is twenty-four hours anymore. The planet is dead. The people are dead. Snow falls down upon piles of bodies like the ash of a volcanic eruption. Except, the snow doesn't stop. It never does. It continues to fall and fall until you wonder if it is even possible for another flake to come down and land silently in your hair. But it does. They do. There are few survivors of what the remaining have started to call the end of the world. The Apocalypse. Few who are still brave or scared of death enough to face the torture that is living. I am one of those survivors. Book One of the Snow Series Highest ranking: #3 in Sci-Fi Watty's Shortlisted

"Mads, I'm sure this is the right house, plus, who cares? I'd totally be killing the wet, hot look anyway.'' I roll my eyes back dramatically and force myself with all my might to not blurt out, 'YOU WOULD.' as his ego would then be enough to make me gouge my own eyes out aswell as getting a car to run me over. Repeatedly. Sighing, I tell him jokingly, ''Do you know who else rocks the hot wet look? Theo's pet dog after it's been running around in the rain.'' I quickly press the sliver doorbell, trying not to look at Zac's face. Epic Fail. **** So here's the deal. The names Madison Mia Briggs. Yup. Lets cut the poshness maybe? The names Maddi. That asshole that you just read about is Zachary Anderson. Woah, the poshness scale is off the charts. Let's chop that down maybe? He hardly deserves it. His name is Zac. The only reason I'm in this situation, is because of my twin brother Elliot. We may share the same green eyes and brunette coloured hair, but look nothing alike apart from that. So with one of my brother's pranks ends in a disaster of course, resulting him crashing into my room with his mates. One of which is Zac who I hadn't seen in God knows how long. As you can predict, Zac has the biggest ego, annoying hot though, and is always there to make my life a adventurous hell. To get him off my back, Zac forces me to make a bet with him. The task is simple. Within the time limit of two months, If one of us says 'I love you' to the other, we lose the bet obviously, and HAVE to do ANYTHING and go EVERYWHERE the other says for three days. And also has the live out the shame of losing for the rest of our lives which neither of us would enjoy when you get to know us. But, If I make it out, Zac gets off my back, and leaves me in peace. So lets do this. But did I mention, Zachary Anderson never loses? Please, for my pathetic life, pray for me.

*BEING EDITED VERY SLOWLY AND HEAVILY* I gasped, glancing at the boy next to me. "She cursed... is that a bad sign?" He makes a funny face and looks at me. "You should run." "Great." Rich and privileged, Jordan Rossi had it all. Maybe too much of it to the point where she didn't realize how spoiled she was. Until she got expelled and practically got kicked out of her nice and comfy home to get shipped to a whole new state to live with her cousin. Her parents sure hoped that would be enough to get her to be a bit more responsible without anyone to fall back on. It's never that easy when there are bad habits to break. Especially if she's lived with those habits for seventeen years. New rules, new people, and a whole lotta of homework, Jordan sure hopes she gets through it without murder on her mind.
