A cry from the rocks below stops a young woman from jumping to her death after losing her husband to the sea. Hurrying to the beach, Coraline finds a child with golden eyes and a hollow pearl. She believes the boy is a gift from the water god, Merrik, and takes the child as her own. She names him Mazin to honor her late husband and the great god of the sea. But something isn't normal about this child. Whenever he cries, thunderstorms appear in once clear skies. When Mazin is scared, thunder cracks and the wind picks up. Coraline loves her son, nonetheless and she is determined to raise Mazin to be like any other boy. A fisherman of the sea and a man worthy of one day captaining one of his Uncle's fishing boats. Sometimes I feel like love is a something that will never last. Sometimes I feel like I'm not good enogh for love. Am I looking in the wrong places? Am I not looking hard enogh? When these questions arise, I have to remind myself that I'm just like you, I deserve love.

Lisa was the only girl that Tony had ever truly loved. The three short years they were married were the happiest years in Tony's life. When Lisa announced that she was expecting, Tony was on cloud nine. He spent all nine months pacing and waiting impatiently. Life would be perfect once his baby girl was born. Finally, the moment came, and Tony finally got to hold little Ashley Stark. She had his eyes, and his dark curly hair, but she had Lisa'a smile. She was perfect. But life wouldn't stay that way. Late one night, the happy trio was on their way home, when Tony's corvette was hit by a semi truck that had lost its brakes. The car was crushed, Lisa was dead, and Tony was left in a coma. When he woke up a week later, no one knew what had become of Ashley. The hospital searched records, the emergency responders had not seen her, and the witnesses all denied having seen anything of her. Ashley was lost.
