Emma Swan, 17, is the new girl at Storybrooke High. She lives with her mother, Mary Margaret and stepfather, Walsh. Emma has unfortunately never met her father. Killian Jones, 23, is a history teacher at Storybrooke High, and has a reputation for being extremely strict. When these two meet their is an instant attraction between them, but don't let that fool you. They instantly clash, giving their relationship a rocky start. When the guidance counselor sees that Emma is failing history, she assigns her a tutor. Under the impression her tutor was going to be another student, Emma is shocked to find out it it's none other than Mr. Jones. They grow close and Emma realizes that maybe he isn't as bad as she thought.

Emma is stuck in an abusive relationship with her long time, rich boyfriend Neal. Killian is in too deep with a girl he hasn't loved for years, Milah. The two are both in a secretive "friends with benefits" relationship ranging all the way from Ireland to Tallahassee, Florida. Beneath the sex, Killian and Emma face feelings that are far greater than pleasure. Killian fears for Emma's safety, but she isn't ready to leave the man she once loved. The man that now terrifies her. Follow their journey of love, pain and the trouble that follows the pair.

Despite having their family behind them, Molly still wishes she had a mother. Poor little Molly inherited the trait of deafness from her mother, and has had to live with it all her life. So after a lot of convincing from his sister in-law, Regina, Killian has decided to send Molly to school where she can learn to deal with her disability, and where she will make a great friend.
