El is a normal sixteen year old girl, but when she moves to America and loses her parents things start to get weird. And not normal. Soon she finds herself on her own, joining a 'family' which includes a couple of cut-throats and a very powerful woman who seems to know more about El than herself. It doesn't take El long to get a grip on things, and set out to achieve the plan she's been keeping to herself so far: to rescue her parents. Although, of course, it doesn't exactly go to plan. But like her gum-chewing friends tell her: "No plans allowed." It all started with a run-down truck and a scruffy haired boy who offered to pierce her ears in return for twenty three bucks.
