I close the shutters just as everyone else in my neighborhood does. I peek in between. There is the cop, the meanest cop. He could be a killer for all we know. I look across the street to see my best friend looking through the shutters. I can't take it anymore. Being bossed around by this... man. I take my eyes from the window and walk to the door. I unlock the door. The door has many locks and I take my time. I open the door, walk out, and straight up to the man. I can see my best friend shooting a look of terror at me. I walk right in front of the man and say, holding my hand out for him to shake, "Hello." He looks taken aback. He recovers quickly. "Hello. What is your name, might I ask?" I reply to him, feeling a little taller. "Lilly. Lilly Mae."
