The sexiest romance you’ll read this year… One moment can change your life forever… For Violet Lee, a chance encounter on a darkened street draws her into a world beyond her wildest imaginings, a timeless place of vast elegance and immeasurable wealth – of beautiful mansions and lavish parties – where a decadent group of friends live for pleasure alone. A place from which there is no escape… no matter how hard Violet tries. Yet all the riches in the world can’t mask the darkness that lies beneath the gilded surface, embodied in the charismatic but dangerous Kaspar Varn. Violet and Kaspar surrender to a passion that transcends their separate worlds – but it’s a passion that comes at a price… Dinner With A Vampire, formally known as Dinner With A Vampire. Did I Mention I'm Vegetarian?, is the first in The Dark Heroine series and is available to buy from the 13th September 2012.

For as long as Arabella could remember the royals had always taken this time of year to take another bride for their family. The air was crisper and ran chills through your skin to your bones. The birds were scarce and the animals had gone into hibernation. The Royals had two different houses. There were the Dracul. They were vampires; evil beings. The second house were Lycaon. They were werewolves and even more brutal than the vampires. Most women found husbands before this time but some were chosen to be the sacrifices for their village. Some brides were killed upon arrival. Some were prisoners. No one wanted to be a sacrifice... Then Arabella meets Ulrik Lycaon... I want to start out with the history of wicca -history of Wicca documents the rise of the Neopagan religion of Wicca and related witchcraft-based Neopagan religions.[nb 1] Wicca originated in the early twentieth century, when it developed amongst secretive covens in England who were basing their religious beliefs and practices upon what they read of the historical Witch-Cult in the works of such writers as Margaret Murray. It was subsequently popularised in the 1950s by a number of figures, namely Gerald Gardner, who had been initiated into the Craft – as Wicca is often known – by the New Forest coven in 1939. Gardner's form of Wicca, the Gardnerian tradition, was spread by both him and his followers like the High Priestesses Doreen Valiente, Patricia Crowther and Eleanor Boneinto other parts of the British Isles, and also into other, predominantly English-speaking, countries across the world. In the 1960s, new figures arose in Britain who popularised their own forms of the religion, including Robert Cochrane, Sybil Leek and Alex Sanders, and organisations began to be formed to propagate it, such as the Witchcraft Research Association. It was during this decade that the faith was transported to the United States, where it was further adapted into new traditions such as Feri, 1734 and Dianic Wicca in the ensuing decades, and where organisations such as the Covenant of the Goddess were formed. From the 1970s onward, books began to be published by such figures as Paul Huson, Scott Cunningham, and Stewart and Janet Farrar which encouraged self-initiation into the Craft, leading to a boost in the number of adherents and the development of traditions. With the rising popularity of Wicca, it was used as a partial basis for witchcraft-based American films and television shows, further increasing its profile, particularly amongst younger people, in the 1990s.
