I live by my rules. Rule #1: No dating clients. The reasons being it makes things complicated, I don't date (see rule 4), and most of my clients are rich douche bags or old enough to be my grandfather. Rule #2: Do not draw attention to yourself. You cannot be seen. You need to be invisible. Which means no photos of yourself under any circumstances. Rule #3: Bringing up the past is a big NO. The old you no longer exists. Rule #4: No dating, simply because you have terrible taste in men and relationships always end with someone getting hurt. Life was simple with the rules. Life was safe with these rules. Sure I was a little unhappy here and there but I got something a lot of people in this world don't, a second chance. My new life in L.A. was a fresh start. Multiple burning red spots appeared on my legs, but I only winced in pain, not daring to look down. I made it into the kitchen, and above our sink was a small window. I placed my arm onto the bright red metal, hissing sounds escaping my lips from the excruciating pain, but I pushed myself up. My hands were bright red with from pulling with all my strength to open the window. Gashes were scattered throughout my body from the various broken furniture on the ground. Innumerable burns were scattered around my body from the smoke and fire.
