"You know what, you're actually kind of pretty." ...has always been the description people tell Phoebe. An insecure eighteen-year-old girl. She doesn't know if they're trying to really compliment her or just being polite. She is pretty sure that if you ever had the chance to take a look at their family picture, she would be the last one you'd notice because of how well the rest of her family present themselves. She is the daughter of two perfect parents and the sibling of a perfect older brother. She is insecure, not because she doesn't think she's pretty, but what society paints her to be-a girl who doesn't pay that much attention to her appearance, "Which is total nonsense" she says. That's why she has always pledged to present herself as she is and not what society wants her to be. But what if the standard of beauty has been completely displayed on her face? To the point that she will literally die or be taken if she doesn't meet it? Will she still stick with "being herself"? Aesthetic-that's what they call the people who meet the beauty standard. Discrimination has been taken to a whole new level and obviously, Phoebe isn't happy about it. Well, the consequence of not being conventionally beautiful is literal death. She now plans on breaking the standard at any cost. Though in order to do that, she must be considered an Aesthetic herself. Another problem is, she's stuck... don't the people around her-the society-have already told her that she's kind of pretty? Well... that doesn't guarantee her safety.
