The greatest tragedy the world has ever known turned out to be the ultimate catalyst for change. In the wake of World War III, which decimated most of the world's population, the remaining survivors vowed to not continue to repeat the same mistakes of the past. Fortunately, they had something previous generations did not have - advanced technology. The year is 2117 and this once shattered civilization has become prosperous again. Innovative forms of technology have enabled them to abandon the old model and re-engineer a better way of living for all. Brain implants and genetic modifications have made an entire population educated, healthy, and kind. Despite the benefits of this technology, it has created some unforeseen side effects that threaten humankind's existence. When technology proves to be inept at solving the world's problem, a new hope emerges in the unlikeliest form - a young orphan girl. *** Cyberpunk, dystopian, technology, future, futurism, scifi, heroine, prodigy...

She's forced to deal with loss, loneliness, and the grueling challenge for survival every single day. She doesn't have much left to remember her old life besides an old, dinged up i-pod that doesn't even work, and of course her memories. After a decade of zero contact, preceded by a bitter fallout, how will these two handle their unexpected reunion?

What if you were one of the reasons the world ended. That your actions have caused the dead to walk among the living. That despite all of your trying you can't solve this problem. Then you end up meeting up with a group, who would most likely kill you if they found your secret out... *** disclaimer *** This story is a fan fiction. I do not own the walking dead or any characters associated with the comic books or the tv show. All rights go to Robert Kirkman and AMC. This story is purely for entertainment only.

This is a Sequel to Dixon Bloodfall. It has been five years since Quinn was told by the dying Merle Dixon to run - run away, as fast as she could, minutes before he was rescued by his group. Five years since she first told herself he was dead, and that they'd be better off if she were too - and five years since she had first found Evangrove, a near carbon copy of Woodbury in northern Pennsylvania. However, today, she finds the man she left for dead all those years ago - and wonders if history truly repeats itself. Time has changed everything, and everyone. In a long term scouting mission assigned by Rick, the Dixon brothers agree to head for the north and investigate the rumors of a self sustaining society, hoping for the best but expecting the worst. Daryl can’t get over the jealousy Quinn caused him, and Merle can’t get over her absence - but everybody will have to surpass their own obstacles if they want to make it out of Evangrove alive. Flashbacks are in italic. The Walking Dead does not belong to me, and all characters besides my own, belong to them. Once again, all credit belongs to AMC's The Walking Dead, all that belongs to me are my original ideas and my character.

Following closely the third season of the series, this story reveals the life of a fifteen year old survivor, Quinn, and her unusually close, but platonic, relationship with Merle Dixon as they survive the apocalypse together. Having lost her family in the first few weeks of the outbreak, Quinn is no stranger to the horrors this new world brings. The only silver lining was having Merle Dixon find her on the precipice of death and nurse her back to health. Because of that, Quinn has irrevocably bonded with the man on a deep level. Perhaps she is too deeply entwined in his life, too blind to what he has done, and what he is capable of. Perhaps she doesn't know the true Merle Dixon. Nevertheless, she will follow the older man to hell and back, and that truth will be tested in the time to come. Flashbacks are in italic. The Walking Dead does not belong to me, and all characters and dialogue belong to them. Chapters follow (for the most part) the plot from the episode, and some dialogue is taken directly from the show. Once again, all credit belongs to AMC's The Walking Dead, all that belongs to me are my original ideas and my character.
