He had the smirk down, I guess all bad boys and assholes did. And I happened to be destined to fall for their signature smirks. Yes, all my friends had warned me, told me countless times that guys like him were nothing more than trouble. But I found myself constantly falling for trouble. He didn't know me, but everyone knew him. The guys didn't mind him, most of them hung out with him. All the smart girls with an ounce of common sense and self control knew he was an asshole and distanced themselves as far as possible. But I wasn't one of those girls, sure I was smart, but I didn't have an ounce of common sense and self control. I had an ounce of curiosity and a tendency to fall for their smirks.

He dreamed of living life on the edge, running from danger at every turn. But he knew nothing of what that really meant. Katie on the other hand, had been abandoned as a child. Left on the streets to fend for herself, she was a loner and a fighter. She had always admired the bright lights of the rich part of town. The best parts of the city. Though she had never experienced life in the lap of luxury, she was always intrigued by it and longed to try it, even if only for a day. They lived in the same city, but were worlds apart, each wanting what they didn't have. But as fate brought them together, they have a lot to learn about the true reality of each of their dreams.
