Batman has been telling the league about mysterious figure appearing and disappearing in plain site that he was taking out gangs and stopping lots of dangerous criminals like Killer Frost or Mr Freeze

Before setting off to home world with Steven and the Crystal Gems, Steven suggests that the Diamonds take some time to understand his own home: Earth in the hopes they may see the planet in a different light. Blue Diamond takes to the idea as a frivolous exploration and attempts to find out what Pink ever saw in place like Earth, to which she meets a fisherman a few miles away from Beach Cities shores.
