***A WATTPAD FEATURED NOVEL Dec 1st, 2015*** EVA TURNER's a single-mom in witness protection hoping to start over and establish lifelong roots on Haven Island. But things get complicated when her small-scale photography business goes viral. MARSHALL DAVIES is a world-weary investigative journalist (suffering PTSD) with his eye on a coveted promotion that will get him out of the field (and line of fire). He's exposed terrorists and slippery politicians; a single-mother should be child's play. While passion blooms, and her past closes in, Eva has to somehow elude the spotlight (and charismatic Marshall) or risk losing not only her new life/identity, but custody of her girls. OUT OF FOCUS was a Top 10 finalist in Harlequin's So You Think You Can Write contest for 2015 . In January 2016, RT Book Reviews deemed OOF as one of the Top 3 books on Wattpad and an excerpt was also recently featured in Cosmopolitan's online magazine.(February 2016). *** Dedicated to anyone who is or has walked in Eva's shoes. I hope you've found your Haven. (And Marshall!!) :) All rights belong to the author and no reproductions are allowed without express permission from @FallonDeMornay. I looked up at the star filled night sky as the tears I had been holding back poured out of my eyes uncontrollably. My life changed in an blink of an eye so to say. Two months ago, two months ago I was just a normal teenage girl going into womanhood. Now I am the wife to the one and only Triumph heir. I didn't want this nor did he. He, my husband. Well only legally so to say. Zephyr Zeus Triumph weds Evangelique Diamond Thornton. No one in their wildest dreams would have ever imagined a girl like me getting married to him. He was every woman's fantasy and desire. His eyes, oh his killer eyes that make my breathing heavy everytime that I get to look at them, which has only been 2 times so far. He was the notoriously infamous, multimillionaire womanizer that girls like me should stay away from and guys like him disliked. Heck, even I wouldn't have thought or imagined of such a drastic change in my life. But life is full of surprises and it never goes as planned. My life from being a straight perfectly paved road had suddenly took the worst twists and turns. I wasn't given a choice and neither was he. Our families forced us in matrimony as a deal sealer to the amalgamation of the Diamond and Triumph empire. I knew he never liked me, no man was ever attracted to me. I don't know was it because of my father's overprotectiveness of constantly surrounding me with guards or was I really not beautiful at all. Our marriage was a deal, nothing but a contract or a piece of paper as he called it. But the way he treated me and acted with me in the very few times we were forced to be together, had proved that he knew something that I didn't. Sometimes I just give up and let myself believe that it's nothing but the fact that he genuinely hates me. As I was just settling down as a newly wed, my life took a turn again. For the better or worst, I have yet to find out myself.

----- In serious need of revision! ----- Wanna-be journalist Kate Santoro would do anything for the scoop. Anything. Including finding her way into an underground club exclusive to only those in the Genovese mafia and the beautiful women they employee. What could be more perfect? She would stick to the shadows, snap a few videos, and write the biggest story New York has ever seen, therein making her a legend! Easy as pie. Until she gets found. A series of blatant lies and lucky breaks later and she is mistaken to be one of the workers underneath. While many might be terrified of this predicament Kate couldn't be more excited. The freedom to roam the area and talk to the members of the infamous brotherhood will leave no rock unturned. All she has to do is keep her cover until the night is over and the workers go home. What a fantastic position she is in! There are just two problems. One being him. Alessio. The Don, the Godfather, the Capo di tutti capi (the boss of bosses) who has taken a keen interest in Kate. Even that is something she could probably handle for one night. Except problem number two. They don't leave. Not at the end of the night, the end of the week, or even the end of the month. Alessio's interest in Kate threatens to expose her, something she would surely die from. He knows she doesn't belong but it's not as though she could have just waltzed in, right? By the time Kate realizes that not even the greatest scoop is worth the price, she is in far too deep to call it quits now. ~~~Praise for When The Sun Goes Down~~~ Natasha427: "It was so captivating that I may or may not have spent the last several hours holed up in my room frantically scrolling down to read more.
