Gdzie Per i Øystein nie żyją, a zarówno Varg jak i Faust odsiadują w więzieniu. Tego drugiego czeka jednak niespodzianka, przyjaciółka zmarłego Euronymousa, wraz z jego dziewczyną (a raczej byłą, bo czy można być z kimś, kto nie żyje) wyruszają w podróż by go odwiedzić. Ingrid jest dręczona przez dziwne sny w których Aarseth i Ohlin zapewniają ją, że żyją. Chce opowiedzieć o tym więźniowi, bo jest on mentalnie najbliższą jej osobą, spośród tych, którzy pozostali żywi.
