I was cramped into my wardrobe and for one of the first times in my life, I was thankful of my petite frame. I heard my bedroom door open and his footstep slowed at my bed, probably looking to see if was stupid enough to hide under my bed. 'Sweetheart, I know you're in here so there's no point hiding. I'll find you soon.' His smooth voice said. My fingers tightened around the metal baseball bat in my hand and I was almost sure he could hear my heart, which was quickening at the second. Thud, thud, thud. His footsteps were coming towards my wardrobe. One of the doors next to me opened and I sucked my breath to make sure he wouldn't hear that. I heard him looking through all of my clothes to see if I was somehow hiding between them. 'I can feel your fear.' Thud. A step closer. 'I can smell it' Thud. Another step. 'Soon I'll hear you whimper.' Thud. It'll be ok he's only messing with your mind, I tried reassuring myself.
