A mysterious group called The Committee is prying teens from their homes and forcing them to take special tests to see who will survive and who will die. The humans are being turned into machines. When a small group of teenagers that survived the Trials escape the confinement area before the Branding, they must get to the bottom of who exactly their city is being governed by... And what their motives are for destroying all of humanity.

I was one of the babies subjected to the experimental "artificial womb" created for babies born prematurely in hopes that it would reduce the health risks that come with being born in such a state. Once the test was shown to be successful, it would be practiced on babies throughout the world and they would be released afterward. I wasn't one of those babies. The facility that I was, in a way, reborn in became my home. Subject Number Six was the only name I could call my own.
