"Serenity, I promise I will not hurt you." The Winter Soldier assures me and I back away again. Fear was written plainly across my body. "You have no right to call me that." I hiss at him as I back up again. I trip and I fall landing on my injured wrist again. I wince but before I can protest, the Winter soldier was kneeling next to me. "Let me help." He whispers as he takes my injured wrist in his human one. "I'm Bucky now." His eyes search mine. I knew this was my Bucky. The one who tended my wounds after the Winter Soldier caused them. "You said that last time." I whisper so he can just hear. His eyes are filled with my same pain. "It's a promise I intend to keep it this time." His metal hand gently touches my hand and I visibly wince. The pain was pretty bad and the cold from his arm brought back bad memories. "Let us help you."

Morgana Stocking was loving and living life to the full. Her parents were rich business people and she had her own make-up products. She didn't see life as it truly was, only what money could buy. That was until she was brutally kidnapped by Hydra and turned into their newest weapon. Months of solidarity confinement turned the girl into a monster, broke the light and turned it into darkness, burned the spirit and turned it into ashes. Now she serves as the Winter Soldier's partner. With wings as black as coal and a face as hard as stone, will this brainwashed, broken girl ever find out what truly happened to her as she starts to question? Or will the Avengers find a way to get the girl before her life is totally ruined beyond repair? #43 in Avengers - 09/05/2018 #870 in Teen fiction - 09/05/2018 All rights go to Marvel. I have tried to make this as realistic as possible, so I have included all the actions and speech from the movies that I think ties in with this story. If you have watched the movies, you'll understand what parts are mine and what parts are the Marvel writers. If you haven't watched the movies, I suggest you do. The dialogue and actions are currently from 'Captain America : Winter Soldier' and 'Avengers : Age of Ultron'. All my own characters are easy to tell :) Also, if I have used your image from Tumblr within my book or front cover (in front cover only the girl and arm), please let me know so I can give you a shoutout. I've tried to get in contact but I can't figure it out. Ty!

"As far back as I can remember, I've been surrounded by water. The salt in the air even now makes it hard to breath, forcing me to squint. Sand clings to every inch of me, caking my pants and shoes. The wind from the ocean picks my hair up, sending it blowing back towards the multi-colored houses lining the shore line. *** 'Quinn, don't panic,' Lexi says through gritted teeth. She holds fistfuls of my shirt now, and I hear the rubber soles of her shoes squeaking. 'Too late,' I whine, grabbing the barbed wire in a last desperate effort to regain some balance. The razor sharp blades cut into my palms, making me jump again. Lexi sucks in air and loses her grip on me. I hold my breath and close my eyes, feeling the wind cradle me from all sides as I fall at about twenty-four miles per hour, considering the height of the wall and my weight. Now, I wish I was surrounded by water." South of Compound 4, another compound exists. Within the wall of Compound 5, children are trained and tested for perfection through the Intelligence Exam, a test that every student takes during their sixteenth year. Pass, and you stay within the compound. Fail, and you are sent to another compound. It's common knowledge that they are building a perfect population to remain when the rest of the world falls to the Virus. Yet, what happens when Quinn faces the threat of Compound 5, a short blonde girl whose name he can't pronounce, and begins to question everything he's ever been taught, pushing the limits of the system and his own comfort zone? When a student receives the compound's first ever perfect IE score, a storm makes its way in from the ocean. Can Q unravel the secrets held within the walls, or will he lead his family and friends to a war they can't win against a woman who seems to be triumphing against all odds? *THE UNEDITED VERSION* Beware of typos, errors, and general mistakes. This is a very, very rough draft. "I live in a place called Compound 4. We are one of ten different compounds placed at strategic locations around the US. It's been thirteen years since the virus overtook humanity, turning about ninety percent of us into zombies. I'm not sure how it started exactly; that's classified information. I do know that in order to save what was left of the human race, the president at the time took a bunch of really smart people and kids and relocated them into new 'protected' cities. My father was one of those really smart people. I was only five at the time, but I knew what was happening." Within the walls of the compound, Jay makes stupid mistakes, mistakes even she doesn't understand, putting everyone inside at risk. All because she can't shoot someone. All because she misses the wind in her hair, the flowers on the hillsides, the sound of crickets at night. All because she's different, the only person untouchable by the Virus. When the mistakes begin to duplicate, and a girl shows up who knows her name, everything begins to change in Compound 4. Highest rank in Science Fiction: #9
