"This summer will be our legacy. This will be what you will be remembered by. This will be the story you tell your grandchildren about when you were in high school. We're going to travel to places we never thought existed. We're going to do things we never even thought were possible. Things that we never dreamed about doing, this is the summer." Crestview High is an average high school in an average city with people who live average lives. Except for one thing, of course: Their senior tradition of riding a bus around the country for the whole summer after graduation. Not just a normal bus, an old school bus that the Belton family bought years ago and ever since their first son graduated, they've carried on the tradition. Now, the youngest and only girl of the family is graduating Crestview, which means that Alaina Belton is determined to live up to the Belton name and make this summer memorable for all twelve people on the bus this year. Of course, with twelve celebratory teenagers under one tiny roof for two months, there is bound to be love, drama, regrets, and a few memories to be made.

Ariel Brooks lives a good life. She has an amazingly large house and a wonderful puppy and a great best friend. She even has one thing that most teenagers would die for- her own house. Well, not technically, but she does live by herself. Her dad is always away on business and her brother is out of the house, so she has the house to herself. She does what most people would do in this situation- parades around without pants on, drinks milk out of the carton, and plays her music way too loud. Ariel isn’t particularly happy about being alone so much, but she doesn’t complain because she knows that she has a good life. That is, until her best friend asks her for a favor of all favors and it changes Ariel’s perspective on everything.

Alice Bowman and Zoey Chase have been best friends since birth. They do absolutely everything together, dating being the only exception. But they don't even do that. These two girls are even the two most popular girls in their school. No, not just their school, their city. They're like local pop stars, and for many reasons. The first reason is probably their drop dead gorgeous looks that any supermodel would kill for. The second reason is their families wealth. Both girls come from families with CEOs as parents. Mansions, a staff, nice cars, everything handed to them. Boys worshiping the ground they walk on for some hope of getting one of the girls into bed. Girls begging them for a moment of their time because they know that if one of these two girls talk to them, they'd be promoted crazy high popularity. Now, I've told you about what they have, but I never said that they want any of it. Because they don't. They don't want the popularity or the high amounts of money or the attention that they receive. They're just two simple best friends who have way too much unwanted drama on their plates.
