La trama non è molto diversa dal film. Ma qui i Draghi hanno una particolarità: i Cavalieri. Cos'è un Cavaliere? Beh, sono delle creature umanoidi che cavalcano i loro possenti Draghi, assumendone anche il loro aspetto. Una notte, durante uno dei tanti assedi, Hiccup, con una sua stramba invenzione, riesce a catturare la specie di Drago più temuta di tutte: la Furia Buia. Successivamente Hiccup scopre che questo Drago ha un suo Cavaliere, anch'esso malandato per colpa dell'invenzione. L'incontro tra i tre è molto burrascoso. Riuscirà il nostro eroe a non farsi uccidere dal misterioso Cavaliere e dalla temutissima Furia Buia?
