This is a Lams modern au. Alexander Hamilton always wears sunglasses. He wears them outside, inside, at night, he even wears them at the movies. No one has ever really questioned him on why....that is until a certain man named John Laurens comes into his life. Alexander Hamilton never expected to be the newest prodigy of Columbia. He never expected to have real friends, not just slightly friendly co-workers. He definitely didn't expect to have real enemies, not just people he didn't like. But out of all the surprises during his first at college, Alexander Hamilton never expected forty five crayons to change his life. But it's like what they say: life is what happens when you're busy doing other things.

19-year-old John Laurens has been in college for four days before his roommate shows up. When John introduces himself, the boy doesn't say a word. So when Laurens asks for his name, he raises a hand and signs "Alexander Hamilton." This surprises Laurens just a bit, because this boy didn't look like the kind to remain silent. He's seen those people before, and the boy in front of him looks like he has a lot to say. But what's keeping him from speaking his mind?
