I'd always said that Steve Harrington was going to be the death of me. I didn't really believe it until that very moment, where he looked it my eyes with all the fear in world, and told me to run.

Larissa, Lacy, Lovell had been noticing Steve Harrington since she was in the sixth grade. Back then, it was easy, she was a skinny little girl with blonde pigtail braids and braces. He was a basketball player with acne and wild, unnameable hair, who seemed in Lacy's league, even if she was too scared to pursue it. It had been so easy. So attainable. Since then, everything had changed. To Lacy, it seemed impossible that the handsome boy with the perfect hair would ever notice her, the girl who everyone liked but no one loved, just average enough to not be freak, but too average to be noticed by anyone at all. That all was, until she started working at the store across the hall from him at the mall, and everything changed all over again.
Steve, the hair, Harrington had never really payed much attention to Lacy Lovell. He'd always thought she was the sort of pretty that people often overlooked, but he found devastatingly earth shattering, with her soft blonde hair and shimmery eyes. Especially after she had grown out of her braces and pigtails phase. But he never really noticed her in high school, and when he graduated it was out of sight out of mind. That was, until he started working at Scoops Ahoy, and he started noticing the earth shattering blonde who worked at the smoothly shop across the hall, and he was desperate to get her attention, even if it meant embarrassing himself in front of Robin a thousand times.
