(Please note that this book has been published so only the first 4 chapters are up. The rest is available on Amazon Kindle.) Sebaga is the Chief's daughter. She lives in a small village in Botswana, Southern Africa and has no intention of marrying anyone. Unfortunately, she has no real choice in the matter. It is tradition that she be wed at her age; the ripe old age of eighteen! The Chief has decreed that any man who can tell a story from sun-up to sun-down shall be the one to marry his daughter. Sebaga is not happy with this decision but there is little she can do to change her father's mind. As each day passes and story after story is told, Sebaga worries that her options are running out. If she cannot defy her father by not marrying a man of his choosing, then perhaps she can delay the whole process for a bit longer. However, there is only so much that she can do. Through her family members, as well as other strange and wonderful characters in her life, Sebaga learns life lessons and meets unforgettable characters as we get to experience moments in her life, her parents' lives, her sister's life and perhaps the life of the man who shall tell the longest tale. A long enough tale to become the man that Sebaga marries. _________________________________________________________________________________

Mirror, Mirror, on the wall, You'll turn ruby as you fall... Mirror, Mirror, on the wall, No more fairest of them all... ~~~ Ebony lives in the Mirror Palace, where the Crystal Queen rules all she sees. At least, Ebony thinks she's alive. No one seems to be able to see her--not even Ebony herself, when she looks into a mirror. The only time anyone notices Ebony is during the day, when they walk past her in the gardens--or use her for various things, such as a coat rack or a convenient shadow-caster. During these moments, Ebony wants nothing more than to speak, to be heard--but Ebony can't speak, or move, or even breathe, because Ebony is little more than a statue, frozen in marble. She doesn't know why she comes alive after the sun sets, or why she can run all the way into the Faerie Forest and still find herself back in the gardens once the moon is gone. Ebony doesn't know much of anything at all, except that she loves Prince Castor, who spends every afternoon reading in the shade she casts, and that she fears the Crystal Queen. Ebony believes that she'll be trapped in marble forever, but with the arrival of Henric, a huntsman hired by the Crystal Queen to track a rare white hart, her fate begins to change... Siena can heal wounds with a touch of her hands. A captive since birth, she is used as a tool of war by a Plainsmen tribe. A chance escape into the forest proves successful... and deadly. Rescued by the Forestfolk--a group of people she always thought were nothing more than bedtime stories--Siena remains on edge. Trust does not come easily when persecution is all she's ever known. Keeping her abilities a secret seems like the right thing to do, until a tragic accident renders two Forestfolk spiraling toward death. If she chooses to reveal her abilities, she risks being subjugated again. Treated as no longer human. Maybe even sent back to the Plainsmen. But keeping her talent to herself means ignoring the injured around her, even allowing them to die. The choice seems obvious to Siena, but living with the repercussions of that choice is another matter altogether. A journey of self-discovery, a bit of adventure, and a splash of romance. On the Wattys 2017 Shortlist!
