When he sees you interact with Jack and take care of him he remembers how he's always wanted to have kids with you and finally gets the courage to bring it up to you.

In the end of season eight, you were one of the Angels that fell. Once you were able to get back on your feet again, you went in search of your old friend Gadreel.
