Welcome to my adventure into writing a short story for the Dragon Princess theme set by @_Once_Upon. If you find the idea of writing to a subject for a competition, make sure you check out Ever After Contests. This is a short story about a fiery princess who vows revenge on her would-be hero. The word count was a maximum of ten thousand words which wasn't easy to stay under; I wanted to keep going! I hope that you enjoy this tale, I certainly had fun writing it. For Her Honour is a tale that is sometimes sad, sometimes funny and the end is rather steamy ;) Don't forget to show your love with those pretty stars and let me know what you think; I'd love to hear from you! © These stories and works are copyrighted. All teens think their parents are evil - they have no idea. For 12-year-old Nocte Yin, she knows the truth. She knows what it is like to have a mad scientist for a father (screams from the basement) and a seductive sorceress for a mother (perfect face, perfect body, perfect everything). She knows what it is like to have heroes (or heroines) beating at the door of their "secret" lair hoping to "purify this land," when all she wants to do is sleep in, eat cake and watch some good shoujo anime. But it’s all fine. It was okay, even. Nocte can put up with all these interruptions and body parts in the hallway because her parents loved her. That is until, of course, they transfer her to Evil Academy, the school for villains-in-the-making. Nocte does not want to be a villain. She wants nothing to do with villainy. She does not even want to hear about villainy. All she wants is to carry on her days as an oblivious normal teen. Was that so hard? Apparently, because the clan Elders are unhappy with her attitude and decide to set an ultimatum: be evil or be gone. And that was enough to send her parents dashing around to rectify the problem. Thus, Nocte's "adventure" begins at Evil Academy. She is thrust into a world she has been avoiding for a very long time and has forgotten what it really means to be a Yin. Roommates hide in bathrooms, spies are made in broken elevators and clan rivalries places more than one into the hospital. Nocte's life gets complicated as she tries to hold onto the belief that being evil results only in unhappiness, but as the school year goes by, she finds herself sinking deeper and deeper into the darkness.

When you're a witch named Trouble, chaos follows. Arden Lesstymine (known to everyone as Trouble) likes attention as much as the next girl, but this is getting ridiculous. When an insane stranger is murdered at the inn where she works, Trouble becomes the next Soulbearer for the disembodied god of chaos, Loku. Yes, it comes with the ability to channel the god's limitless power, but at the cost of her sanity - literally. Now she has a sexy but cynical knight claiming to be her protector, a prince trying to seduce her to his cause (and his bed), and a snarky chaos god who offers a play-by-play commentary on it all, whether she wants to hear it or not. To make matters worse, a necromancer wants to capture the soul of Loku for his own dark purposes, and the only way he can get it is by killing her first. *** I'll post new chapters every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday

An orphan with a dubious pedigree strives to secure her future through marriage, but as she stumbles through the dance of courtship, she begins to question who she truly is -- and who she wants to be. ***** Edith Shepley looks like a Wyrm. She takes after her father, whoever he was, but that doesn't change things. She is a proper Folk lady nonetheless, trained from the cradle to govern as Baroness of Ewert someday. And she knows her duty. Now a woman at sixteen years old, Edith must marry and beget Ewert's next heir. She obediently considers suitor after suitor, some sweet, some baffling, some detestable. But the more she sees of her mother's society, the more Edith questions whether she really is a Folk lady, after all. And the more she's stung by its insults, its injuries and injustices, the more she doubts she really wants to be. Book One of The Unfinished Wyrm! Wattys 2017 "The Storysmiths" winner!

Exiled from her homeland, Elena found purpose in her work as the Captain of the Guard to the Queen of Kalad--at least, until she was ordered to help a brooding Prince regain his home and release his hostage son. A clever and competent soldier and expert swordswoman, Elena accomplishes this with ease, in spite of the Prince getting in her way. When she discovers the land this difficult Prince rules is exactly what she has always yearned for, she implores him to allow her to stay. It isn't long, though, before she learns that they are threatened by a great evil force. Elena is willing to fight for what she has come to love, and willing to make any sacrifice to protect this special place, if only the Prince will cooperate. If you love a great epic, with magic, sword fights and a little bit of romance, you will love following Elena's story through to its dramatic conclusion. Sequel to 'UnGloved'! (Stands on its own.)
