D-day : 16 June1976 Just after the "New Canada" stalemate has been broken, and both sides refused to back down, that I found myself between flying bullets from R 4 assault rifles of the security forces, or becoming a potential victim of a stampede, caught up in grey dense clouds of suffocating teargas, accompanied by rattling sounds of helicopters above Soweto skies. My face became numb and tears were running down my cheeks, due to the stinking tear gas. Even my nose was hurting, and finding available running tap water was difficult. I didn't care wether the water tap was from the unsympathetic inhabitants of Noordgesig. What mattered most to me, was to ease the burning sensation of teargas with water from my eyes, only to worsen it. As l futher ran away from the shooting security forces and their vicious police dogs, I did not have time to doubt my Christianity or to notice any casualties. ... I finally found myself hiding behind a toilet in Noordgesig, waiting for the worst to happen. Holding my breath and trying to ease my irregular heartbeat, I suddenly heard the sound of what I thought were military boots, of one of security forces' men coming closer and closer... I soon realized that the nightmare was real, the nightmare that saw the end of Apartheid. Thabiso Monkoe's Blog: THE AZANIAN

I woke up early one morning opened the fridge and realized that I have no milk for my favorite muesli breakfast. I knew mine was to take a long walk to the unknown supermarket that I once saw when driving past, with my wife on our way to town.I desperately needed to buy at least a litter of fresh milk for my dry muesli breakfast. I particularly love the more fruity ones and less the nutty versions. But first I went cyber to check my emails and what's trending, I didn't want to miss the usual drama in Parliament especially since the controversial Brine Molefe was appointed as a Member of Parliament. I was also expecting an email from Reach publishers regarding my book "THE AZANIAN", I couldn't be happier to use it as a scapegoat for me to roam around the web. I put on my walk friendly gear and was off to the unknown supermarket via according to me, the tranquilest environment with indigenous trees, populated by various chirping little birds, lush gardens and various breeds of dogs silently barking acknowledging their territories. Consequently I decided to lower my pace, expecting the dogs to do the same, and quickly shifted my focus to the road ahead, minding my own business, and continued my walk down tranquil avenue. It was not long after first light, when all of a sudden my breath was taken away by this super awesome sunrise and I knew that the moment it appeared, It will be gone in an instant. And I quickly took out my 21pixels Sony experia camera, fixed its lens to focus on the object, stood still like a robot, to capture the perfect moment. But I soon realized that I was dreaming as I heard my alarm clock emergency like ring-tone that brought me back to reality and made think of the person I'm allergic to, my boss. And my dream was gone, gone too soon, maybe forever...
