(GrimDecember) Ava Kemper is on the verge of adulthood and feels the pressure from her wealthy parents to find success in a world that she cannot define as her own. The world is perceived differently by her classmates and society as a whole--some see it in the form of shapes, glittering auras, or otherwise. But she has not found the lens with which she must perceive the world she is in. Her shocking, forest green hair and eyes to match make her stand out from the crowd, paired with her shortness and pale, white skin. She has been an outcast for as long as she can remember. The world is a blank canvas; it seems that it always will be and that she'll be doomed to musing on what it could be with her writing until she becomes a host for a German exchange student named Jamie. When she meets them, her world changes completely as they work together to find out what the world means to each of them. ~ (S. F. Grey) Jamie Denker, known to the rest of the world as Raisa, has struggled their whole life to fit into a society that demands rigid definitions. As an outlier, they find it difficult to cope with the pressures placed on them by the world at large to just be a normal, happy teenage girl. When their school offers them the opportunity of a lifetime -- an exchange trip to a country with its own unique perspective -- they leap for it, hoping they'll feel like less of an oddity in a different culture. They leave behind everything they've known to immerse themself in a world both separate from and much the same as the one they leave behind, with one major difference: a girl named Ava. When they discover that the two both lack perspectives of their own, everything changes. The only question is, will it be for better or for worse?
