Ponyboy Curtis is living with his two older brothers Sodapop Curtis and Darrel Curtis whom they call Darry. Ponyboy has become depressed and lonely and starts having suicidal thoughts and hallucinations. He gets panic attacks often and rarely eats, speaks, or even leaves his room for that matter.

Nico has had depression for as long as he can remember. After attempting suicide, he finds himself in a Mental Institution. An asylum for people with mental disorders. No matter how much Nico wants to be alone, he quickly finds himself making friends. He becomes friends with a Pyromaniac, some girl with a strange obsession with rocks, a guy who believes he can turn into animals, two other boys who suffer from schizophrenia, one believes he can fly and control lightning, while the other believes they are able to talk to sea creatures, equestrian mammals, and can breath underwater. Nico also becomes acquainted with a blonde girl, who currently volunteers at the mental asylum. Nico also meets a kleptomaniac girl. After a while of being at Half-Blood Mental Institution and Asylum, a new patient arrives. They don't seem to have anything wrong with him, but everyone here has their secrets. So what's his? WARNING: VERY TRIGGERING STORY!! Rated M for self harm, suicide, eating disorders, swearing, abuse, homophobia, etc.

Dan is a dancer, but it's his best kept secret. Moving to a new college results in new friends, new hobbies and a new outlook in life; but what does it really mean to be human? Dan is the senior that everyone looks up to, he is charming, witty and sometimes even nice. Phil is the sophomore that is constantly being bullied for being who he his, a boy who likes boys. Roles seem to switch when Dan saves Phil's life, and finds himself falling for the younger boy. Dan is the new target for torment and beatings. But unlike Phil, Dan doesn't handle it very well, and finds himself spiraling downhill, with what seems like no way back to the top.

Dan feels invisible at school, but he doesn't mind very much. He only has one friend, and feels lonely quite a bit, until a classmate named Phil begins to talk to him. Dan is confused on whether he has feelings for Phil. Phil's synesthesia confuses yet amazes Dan. Suddenly things begin to fall apart.

Sequel to Black and Blue (read that first!) Dan struggles to get back on his feet after everything that's happened. Phil seems distant, and it causes problems in their relationship that Dan isn't sure he can handle.
