On imagine souvent Que l'ombre c'est notre part ténébreux Mais dans le combat avec la lumière C'est lui notre fidèle amie La lumière Aussi brûlant que masquant Fait bien mal aux yeux En la regardant d'assez près C'est un mal pour un bien Je crois! Mais c'est bien mal Lumière D'ombres Reflète la beauté Des ombres Qui ont une silhouette Tout à fait spectaculaire Et brillent par leur mélancolie

Lorsque je me suis levée, à l'église, durant le mariage de ma meilleure amie Lauren, pour déclarer publiquement que j'étais la maîtresse du marié, je ne voyais là qu'un moyen d'empêcher une union vouée à l'échec. Naturellement, je me doutais que Ryan, le fiancé de mon amie, prendrait mal mon intervention, mais je pensais que sa colère finirait par se calmer... Ce en quoi j' avais tort, incroyablement tort, comme je n'allais pas tarder à l'apprendre à mes dépens. Car Ryan Bath n'était pas homme à accepter une telle humiliation sans forcer tôt ou tard la coupable à lui rendre des comptes - de la pire des manières...
