In a world where horses evolved over humans, with humans now servants to the equine empires rather than the other way in reverse, two horses live ordinary lives in the windswept deserts of the Akhal Empire. Solitudine is a former soldier, a shell-shocked stallion who is currently living in a foreign empire to attempt to escape the memories which keep him lying awake at night. He works as a slave guard in the bustling capitol city of the Akhal Empire, a vast domain which stretches from coast to coast of our human African continent. In the long wooden barns of the city area dedicated to the keeping of public slaves, Solitudine encounters a sweet, soft-spoken chocolate brown mare named Hope. Her gentle eyes and honey-gold mane draw him in, but there is one problem- Hope is not a free citizen, as he is. Solitudine and Hope strive through hardship upon hardship to stay together, and though their struggles bring them strength, will they ever be free to be together as one?
