Kat can sometimes will herself to slip through time. What happens when she is given the chance to watch her favorite band years before she was even born? This short story was originally written for Time Traveled Tales, a Silence in the Library anthology. (http://www.silenceinthelibrarypublishing.com/product/time-traveled-tales-vol-1/) It combines two of my favorite subjects - time travel and my favorite band. Can you guess what band this might be in the story? I also have a sequel to the story called "Time Rules" - it is also on my Wattpad. The art is by Matt Slay.

Kat once again finds herself transported through time - but this time she can't control it. What happens if she is stranded in the past? Or is it worse for her to be unable to return there, to be with the person she loves? This short story was written for Time Traveled Tales, volume II (http://www.silenceinthelibrarypublishing.com/product/time-traveled-tales-vol-2/). It's a sequel to Timeslip, which is on my Wattpad as well, but also can be read as a standalone story. It too involves time travel and music and a famous musician, who may or may not be real. The art is by Matt Slay.

This short story was written for Janine Spendlove's War of the Seasons trilogy. She had guest authors write tales set in Aileonora. I chose to write about Eachan and Eirnin's back story. The story has spoilers, so wait until you've read at least through Book 2! The story was published in War of the Seasons: The Heart. What follows is an excerpt and author's note. The art is by Stephanie Smith.

High school in the early 90s: it was before cell phones and social media, but the problems were the same. How do you get the guy you're interested in to notice you? What happens if you fall in love with your best friend? Why does physics class keep factoring into your love life? This novella is loosely based on my own high school experiences... but sort of an alternate version of them. You can only make one set of choices in life, so it's fun to explore what could have been - but wasn't - in fiction. Also, set in 1991-92, this is kind of a period piece now! In some ways it's a love letter to the teen books I read back in the 80s and 90s, in particular those by Ellen Conford and Paula Danzinger. I hope you enjoy it. This story was featured on Wattpad in 2016.

ELECTED is the sci-fi story of a girl who masquerades as a boy to take her country's presidential role in a futuristic America. It deals with issues of tolerance, gender, women's rights, and environmentalism. It's the first dystopian book written from the government's perspective. Book cover blurb: It's the year 2185, and in two weeks, Aloy will turn eighteen and take her father's place as president of the country. But to do so, she must masquerade as a boy to avoid violating the Eco-Accords, four treaties designed to bring the world back from the brink of environmental extinction. Aloy hopes to govern like her father, but she is inheriting a different country. The long concealed Technology Faction is stepping out of the shadows, and as turmoil grows within her country, cryptic threats also arrive from beyond their borders. As she struggles to lead, Aloy maintains her cover by marrying a woman, meanwhile battling feelings for the boy who knows her secret-the boy who is somehow connected to her country's recent upheaval. When assassination attempts add to the turmoil, Aloy doesn't know whom to trust. She understood leadership required sacrifice. She just didn't realize the sacrifice might be her life.
