Now that everyone involved with the distribution of JH-14 and the whole money laundering scheme is sitting -not so pretty- in jail, Sang can finally concentrate on becoming a full Academy member. Her opportunity to prove herself comes when her boys get called in to help a team out in California for the next week. Sang just has to endure one week without them. One full week of her figuring out her own problems without the boys trying to jump in to save her. But no one predicted JH-14 to be massed produced with horrible adjustments to its chemical makeup. People always assume a zombie apocalypse would be created by Mother Nature. Not by people. The end of the world began a little over two months ago, it was a sunny, barely windy day and my family had just moved from Illinois. Some could say that the apocalypse was the worst thing to ever happen to them, but for me... it was the best. For me, it granted the freedom I never had but for others, it granted them an eternal suffering they never asked for. I spent a few peaceful weeks, exploring myself as well as the beauty of the nature around me. Those peaceful weeks stopped when I was attacked, though. I should've suffered and died like everyone else, but I didn't. And sometimes, I wish I had. My name is Sang and this is a story about my inevitable end.

When the world ended, people didn't believe it at first. They went on with their day, even though the news was blasting about some type of disease that was airborne, killing hundreds within hours. Maybe it was the fact they kept changing their story, from disease to some drug, JH-14, to just being God's will. Either way, people started to finally believe the world was ending when their loved ones that died, came back alive trying to get a bite of their flesh. I'd been alone way before the world even happened, and I was alone during it as well. To myself, I was Anastasia Romanov, the girl taken from Mother Russia at twelve. To everyone else, I was Black Knight, a stupid vigilante that put others before themselves. No one knew who I was, whether I was a boy or a girl, or even what my hair color was. And I was content with that. Content with being alone; until the day I saved the mysterious Toma Team.

The sequel to The Last Dragon Rider Scarlet, now comfortable in her own skin, has finally settled into her new life away from the society.
