A collection of paranormal, horror and fantasy short stories woven around old legends, odd characters, the occasional werewolf and the darkness within, some of which have been published or picked up the odd award. There are things you cannot see unless they want to be seen, and some legends linger on despite the modern world. A Gift in the Dark is a compilation of short works, many based around old myths and legends, and starts with a tale of a miner's descent into madness, history and legend, drifts through darkness, past a retelling of Red Riding Hood, up a crane, and along to the end of the world.

What happens if you walk barefoot at midnight? You would probably say nothing happens but have you ever tried walking barefoot five steps away from the extreme West side of your house? Madison is instantly transported to a club called "The Hell Bar and Lounge" when she does the above. At first glance she thinks the club filled with humans but at a closer look she realizes they are too perfect to be human. It's a place, no human has ever heard of before. Hidden in another dimension, it's a club in which beautiful creatures, who are certainly not human, get together. A Charming non-human boy introduces her to the "The Hell Bar and Lounge".

This is a short story I wrote for my Advanced Compostion class my senior year. I really enjoyed writing it. I hope you like reading it as well. I thought it was really precious (not to toot my own horn ;)) It is about a unique proposal. It was actually inspired by how my cousin was proposed to. Read on, wattpadders. Read on. Ps: If you read the first letters of the title diagonally, it says AWW...so that, in itself, should tell you it's cute. ;)
