Kunugigaoka junior high is a private school that only a certain type of students can get in. These kids are usually demigods or gods, and they come here to control there magic so they can use it for the good of humankind. Today is the first day of the new school year meaning new classes and in Nagisa's case it means going down to E-class where he makes many new friends. One of those friends being Karma Akabane, a demigod. The two spark up an odd friendship, or will it be more? Nagisa keeps getting hurt by his mom and boys from school in higher classes. He hides all his bruises and cuts from his classmates and when someone sees one of them he just gave an excuse like fell down while riding his bike or tripped. He acts completely normal even though he continues to hide everything from his friends. Nagisa gets hurt badly by his mother and when she took Nagisa to the hospital she just said he did it to himself. Which wasn't the truth. He did cut himself but he would never do this, it was awful and he nearly died from his injuries. All his classmates don't want to face him after hearing that he did all that to himself. One red head isn't believing that he did it all himself because when the class went to the hospital to see him there was no way he wouldn't have passed out from blood loss. He digs things up Nagisa didn't want found. Karma doesn't want to see Nagisa hurt anymore so he forces Nagisa to stay with him after he gets out of the hospital. Karma doesn't mind having Nagisa around especially since Karma fell for the blue haired boy who everyone except his classmates and teachers think is a girl and gets teased for it.

Nagisa Shiota, a simple 16 year old teenage boy who happens to be known as the 'beauty' of Kunugigaoka city. He is a calm and collected teacher who finds himself outside of the library often. He was friends with a sadistic red-head from the very age of 1, they were always together until 11 years later, because Karma's parents were business people they had to move to another country - or at least that's what Karma said - they stayed in contact for 2 years. On his 14th birthday the last text he received from Karma was 'Happy birthday, Nagi-chan~'. Karma Akabane, a simple, rich 17 year old teen, or so you would think. He was friends with a sweet bluenette since the young age of 2. They were always together until a week after his 12th birthday his parents told him they were moving to America. Everyday he tried to convince them otherwise but they just wouldn't have it. Eventually they moved. That's what he told Nagisa. However, that was a lie.
