Thalia Foster was a reincarnated individual, ran over by a truck. After being reincarnated in a realm of happiness, sparkles and magic, she thought she could finally be happy but underneath that thin veil of beauty lays a dark poison to be treated with caution and care. Knowing full well Thalia could utilize her abilities to uncover more of their hidden secret, the immortal guardian council of the south decides to frame Thalia and therefore banish her from their kingdom along with her older twin siblings and her mother. A bit confused and angered, she was accepted among the ranks of the royalty of the North and trained to become strong, to be able to take revenge against the snotty councilors of the south and to be able to protect her family from the harshness of reality. Learning magic with another boy her age proved to be no easy task. Kuro has a soul as black as his name, a sharp tongue and often tested her patience but she had to put up with him in order to seek knowledge from the stone faced master Jasper and be able to venture to the real world where she could destroy all those who wish to destroy her family. But as determined and wary as Thalia is, she still couldn't believe the existence of a type of dark arts called "demon summoning" when the mage uses his or her life to trade for the life of a demon. It was used only in times of grave danger but something had rigged the security, loosening the bonds that had once tied the gate together, unleashing horrors and nightmares into their world. And those creatures were far from merely demons. Thalia was forced to team up with more young mages her age along with Kuro to defend the northern kingdom and the people within. The only way to lock the opened gates was a very dangerous ritual never performed and a thought that was casted into the back of every mind with needed help from a long extinct dragon. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Welcome to the dark ages.

[Second book of the Flight Series] "More than anything, the sky was red. It wasn't dark, no. Just red." Iolani Tori learns about the part of him that isn't human; and sees the line between animal and himself thin to something less than a thread. If raw aggression, lust, and selfishness prevailed--and if that was what it meant to be human--how was he to not regard himself as a bird that relied on its instincts to survive? Io finds that it is sometimes hard to hold on to his humanity; to be nice, and to be kind. Well apart from that, he also learns that he smells like fresh linen when he's in heat. Weird.

"Well then, there must be a reason why you aren't able to keep your eyes off me in the market today, Miss Wellesley." He whispered in my ear, sending shivers down my back. "Don't flatter yourself," I took a step back, "it's just that you're the first person I think the word 'ugly' stands for." "Deny all you want, sweetheart." He inched closer and leaned into my ear, "but your face says it all." ___________________ Are you aware of how people lived in the 1800s? Well, I for one, do not. "Y-you," she stuttered, staring at the handsome man sitting on the sleek black throne, "you're..." He rolled his eyes, waving his hand impatiently and said, "Hades. Come on, say it with me. Ha-des." "Hades," Ariel breathed out, still not believing the sight before her. Every picture she had seen of the gods had not depicted Hades' beauty. The god sitting before her was not a crusty old man with a white beard; no, he was a Calvin Klein model. "Yes," Hades clasped his hands together and grimaced, "the God of Death and riches; that's me." Ariel nodded, still refusing to believe but knowing she had to and Hades' grimace turned even bitter, "And you, darling, will be staying with me for quite some time." ~*~ Cover: _nymphomaniac Published: 8/6/14
