Kakek itu terdiam. Memandangi lalu-lalang arus kendaraan di depan matanya tanpa mengindahkan betapa bisingnya suara yang memekakkan telinga. Dia di sana, sendirian, terduduk kaku dengan mata sayu yang mengharap belas kasih orang yang melewatinya. Namun, apa daya, tak ada satupun orang yang menyadari akan keberadaannya di sana. Kakek itu hanya terdiam. Membuatku memendam banyak pertanyaan di kepala tentangnya. Hingga suatu hari, bermodalkan nekat dan membuang rasa gengsi, aku berjalan mendekatinya. Menyapanya ramah, bercerita tentang banyak hal, sampai dia mulai berkata tentang sesuatu yang tidak pernah kusangka sebelumnya. (c) 2015.
