"Are you... lost?" Someone asked, her tone impatient. I stopped scanning the room to find the woman behind the voice. I blinked. She had the most luminous blue eyes I had ever seen. Even in the dim glow of the bar they glowed brightly, like her pupils were some type of smooth stone at the bottom of a clear blue ocean. Within her blue there flickered tiny speckles of silver, which gave her an icy, somewhat stony appeal. But it was her slight, lopsided smile that erased any signs of wanting to be alone. No wonder this bar was so popular. "Uh, no," I said, holding up the Help Wanted sign I had snagged from the front window. The woman's cool eyes flickered between the sign and me. She didn't say anything, only looked slightly thoughtful as slender fingers raked through her long blonde hair. "What can you do?" She finally asked, definitely not expecting me to be able to do much of anything at all. She'd be right. "Anything and everything," I answered-lied-instantly, hoping I didn't look too desperate, didn't sound too eager. To be perfectly honest, I hadn't worked a day in my life. My hands were used to weekly manicures not hard labor. But desperate times call for desperate measures. The blonde appeared thoughtful again. Those magnificent eyes gave me a once over, slow and steady. You could see the cogs turning in her head as she considered it. I decided to try and sound more convincing. "I have many skills," I added. Okay, so I stole that from Xena, but I was hoping it worked as well for me as it did for her. The blonde lifted a sculpted brow and the smile was, once again, back on her lips. She seemed amused. Maybe she was a Xena fan? "Alright... I'll start you off cleaning the bathrooms, sweeping the floors, doing the dishes..." Crap.

I felt a longing to trail my hands on her body. To explore and know the vampire that managed to steal my heart. I inched closer, every single cell of my body hyper aware of her nearness. The music picked up its rhythm, and we swayed with each other, a dance of seduction that slowly but surely consumed my mind. My eyes automatically went to her lips, frozen in a half-smile, tempting, coaxing me to kiss her. In this moment, my sickness, my parents and siblings, every thought seemed to vanish, except her and me. Sweat trickled down my back. I leaned nearer, nearer, feeling her breath on my face. I opened my mouth, ready to taste the forbidden fruit in front of me.

(BOOK ONE of the FRAGILE HEARTS series) // (Short Story) "Tell me your three fears," she whispered, softly. Her voice was delicate like a caress almost making me close my eyes and wish for her to talk infinitely because I knew I could never grow tired of her voice. As we looked up at the night sky, the sounds of waves crashing and drunken laughter surrounded us, I couldn't help but feel like I finally belonged somewhere. I belonged laying just next to her listening to her beautiful laughter and her voice that spoke of many stories either involving the shenanigans we've done in the past or her college friends had done. I mulled over what my three fears could be yet couldn't help but feel the fear skimming along my spine as one fear stood out the most. One fear that may bring this friendship into a rocky edge. Just that thought made me close up; guarding myself from the world. "I'm afraid of spiders, heights, and..." Losing you, I thought to myself as I turned to look at her to meet those brown eyes that had brought me to my knees millions of times already staring back at me. She smiled widely and I couldn't help it but smile back. I don't know what I'll do if I lost you... © Copyright 2014 All Rights Reserved

*** I wrote this when I was like..14/15 and personally don't think it's one of the better works I've done but a lot of y'all seem to like it so I'm leaving it up here. *** At Oakwood High School there are two girls with two very different lives. Meet Jessica Night and Kaylee Scott. Jessica, coming from wealth and status and Kaylee, just another student passing in the halls quietly. Something so simple brings them together. A school project. So cliche right? Kaylee has had a HUGE crush on Jessica for quite some time before scratching that idea out. However, try as she might she can't completely rid of the feelings locked away and this project isn't helping at all. Forced to interact but not forced to become friends, follow these two as their lives intertwine. Can they keep their newfound friendship from breaking and maybe become more then just friends or will everything fall to pieces? But watch out for the secrets and lies for they won't stick to the shadows for long.

This is a true story based on a personal experience. Some things will be added and names will be changed but I wanted to share my story because these are the words I couldn't tell to the person that I love. I was too afraid to admit my feelings and now I'm writing them all down. It's a huge stretch but if enough of you like my story maybe the person I wasn't able to say this to will finally see it. I hope some of you can relate or you at least enjoy it. So comment, vote and share. Thank you to anyone who takes the time to read (:
