Danny never expected that his sabbatical would take place in Britain. Least of all magical Britain in an alternate universe. But it did, and he damn well made the best of it.

The young Prince Roman doesn't know much about the world outside the palace, but one day he meets a boy his age with gift for art and witty comments who climbs up to his balcony one night. When the boy's past comes back to interfere with their future, they have to stay true to one another and fight to keep their lives, and the kingdom, from falling apart. This book is completed.

Dan and Phil are children together, best friends from the offset. Even as they drift apart Phil's little lights stay with Dan and he carries the theory with him through into old age.
