"Come one Mal, just throw the blessed lighter!" Ian yelled. I felt my pulse hammering against my skull as I allowed the lighter to slip from my grasp and into the post office building. Just when I heard the sound of breaking glass, everything quickened and I felt my stomach plummet into a nauseated feeling that I used to only feel when I heard my parents whispering at night and assumed it was about me. I stood, watching in rivet as flames overcame the building, not listening as Ian tugged on my arm.
"God! Malory! Let's go! Let's go! Don't you hear the sirens? Let's go!"
At that, I sprinted all the way home.
