Many things happen unexpectedly, like her sudden friendship with James Potter. Lily must stay strong to get through the year and make sure she stays focused, but Potter may make that a problem. Celeste Black grew up to believe that muggles and muggle-borns were filthy. She didn't completely understand why, but that's what her grandparents told her.
