I'll tell you what would happen-- Maxeil/Nax would become sO CANON- *ahem* Anyway, a whole new story would unwind, and the two would fall in love. The problem is, Max is incredibly dense, since he never loved anyone romantically before (He used to love his parents, but let's not get into that... yet). So, Max tries his best to understand /why/ he feels so happy around Neil, or the knot in his chest when he sees Tabbii fawning over Neil. It's time for Max to learn How to Love Someone.
