The story begins 2 weeks into Laurie's employment, one day before the Heelshire's commit suicide, five days before her life is changed irrevocably. This story line explores how things might have been had Laurie and Brahms had time to get to know each other, and how Brahms reacts and responds to Laurie's more understanding approach to his situation.
