Every summer Zelda is forced to go to her family's vacation home in the mountains, leaving her only friend behind. Link has been there for her for years, and she hates leaving him every break. Link is known to be a man of few words. In this case, it is completely true. He has been mute since he was very little, no one knows why. As you can probably expect, other people his age are rather vocal, especially about him not being so. Zelda sees through it. She takes a look further to see who is behind all of the silence, but it doesn't work out how she expected it to. An event leads to Zelda staying over at Link's house. They both feel the romantic tension and constantly think about addressing it, but although they're more comfortable around each other than anyone else, saying just three words scared them both more than anything. Toltarra has been strewn in war for nearly 300 years, the four major clans governing the mass of land at a constant battle for domination over all else. She was the women who claimed giants tunneled beneath the ground and feathers were messages carried on the backs of birds from the clouds. They called her The Mad Witch and after she disappeared ash rained through the air and Tolterras ground was scarred. When The Mad Witch disappeared, the clans were plunged into blood and darkness.
