On the first day of 8th grade Jack Barakat notices the new kid, soon to be known as no other than Alex Gaskarth. By just one glance at him from the crowded school hallway, Jack has come to the conclusion that he hates him already. Alex just moved to Baltimore and he already has all the popular kids wrapped around his little finger. How he managed to climb to the top of the popularity list is beyond Jack's knowing. All Jack know's is that he can't wait to be far away from the school, from the popular kids, and farther away from Alex as possible. But what happens when a thought gets planted in Jack's lonely mind? When Jack starts to question things, question himself even, things take an unexpected turn. Did he really want to be far away from Alex? His mind said yes, but his heart says other wise. Everyone always tells you to listen to your heart, but people who are wiser than him-insert sarcastic laugh here- like his mother, his teachers, ect. yells at him, "Use your goddamn brain Jack!" So now the skunk color haired boy has to make a decision. Should he take a chance with his thoughts, or should he just forget them and be left to wonder the ultimate question. "What could have been?" Jack Barakat is spending Senior Week at Ocean City, Maryland. While there, he meets Alex Gaskarth, who is cool, sexy, and probably way out of his league. But when Alex starts taking a liking to Jack, Jack makes a decision: By the time he leaves, he’ll have Alex falling head over heels for him.

There he has to share a room with Jack Barakat, who was possibly the worst person to room with due to his attitude, but when Alex discovers more about Jack and why he was there he begins to feel different towards the boy he was told to stay away from. Will Jack accept Alex's help and encouragement? Or will he shut himself away from Alex and refuse anything to do with him? Is what Alex feels towards Jack more than just the need to help him? It all began with a kiss, with Alex, my best friend, my band mate, which got me thinking, am I gay? The audience was yelling now. "Do it! Do it! Do it! Do it!" They chanted. I blinked, confused. After that show, fans ordered us to kiss at every venue we performed at. Became a regular thing I guess. I just wished the kisses would last longer... So I admit. Alex Gaskarth is a nobody. He's just one small speck that walks the world alone and barely makes it by. He thought he could have all the fun being rich, but he's at the point where he realizes that the money will eventually get to your head and he wants out of that life.
