While visiting your father's workplace in 19th century France, you find yourself having to rush inside in of the Opera Populaire during a stormy night, for... obvious reasons. And that seemed fine. After all- aside from the sleeping ballerinas and a few other people, there wasn't supposed to be anyone around. Much less, walking around... However, that doesn't seem to be the case. You are quick to be whisked away by a masked stranger. After he fixes you up and allows you to stay the night with him, a powerful friendship begins to spark between the two of you, and you soon become an apprentice to the ever-so-famous opera ghost. You seem to know more about the events in the opera house than anyone else does- Christine Daaé, Joseph Buquet, Meg Giry, and even her own mother. You seem to hold as much knowledge as the man who brought you there. All seems well for a while. The operas, parties, drinking, and love triangles continue on as if nothing happened... That is, until you realize that you're in love with that man clad in black. *** Note: This story begins at around the same time that the musical does - when managers André and Firmin first take charge of the opera house. I tried to stay true to most of the story line, but there will be a few minor changes.

Erik is an assassin, moonlighting as a reclusive composer. Christine is a lonely girl, hired at the recently started business called The Friend Shop. This is their story.

Christine went and told her beloved angel how she felt how she truly loved him. Soon they gave in to their richest desires. They soon escape the opera house and flee to America. Along the way things happen and Raoul shows back up. Will Raoul get in between Erik's and Christine's love? Will they make it knowing what could happen to each other? What will they do when a child appears in the mix? If a child is born at all? Will they survive dangers together or apart? What secrets will they learn?

The authorities always spin the story so the person who did the actual killing is on the bad end of the argument, she's noticed that. They never even stop to wonder whether or not the person who did the killing was, oh... trying to save their own life, perhaps? She doesn't understand why they always make her out to be the bad guy. Yes, she's stolen a few things, and yes, she's killed a few people, but she always had a reason. The people she's killed are worse than she is. La Chatte Noire never kills without reasoning, without justice. Unfortunately, the authorities don't like vigilantes so much, and her reputation of thieving precedes her. But for some reason she doesn't understand, he doesn't care. Book One in the In My Darkness series. A Phantom of the Opera fiction.
