Nagisa is thrown back in time along with Kayano and Karma by an invention that their former classmates Itona and Ritsu helped make under the supervision of a man sent by the government aka Karasuma. The machine still has a few things that need to be worked out so on their way back after testing it they end up in the wrong time and witness different events.
