Some secret and some painfully obvious. He's shy and timid, scared to be hurt. When he meets John Laurens, those secrets that he worked so hard to keep hidden start to slip out. John has secrets of his own. He keeps them hidden usually under smiles and helping others. But just like Alexander, he finds that he is a lot more open around the new immigrant boy.
