(AU) Five years after the tumultuous events on Mustafar, the galaxy is in the throes of chaos, governed by the treacherous Emperor Palpatine and his apprentice Darth Vader. Vader carries out his master's commands with an iron fist and mirrors Palpatine's cruelty, to the point where he has a few treacherous secrets of his own. Tucked away in the grasslands of Alderaan, Padmé Amidala-Skywalker raises her six-year old twins Luke and Leia while grieving the death of her husband Anakin Skywalker who she believes died on the fiery Mustafar system. Vader and his estranged family are light years away but a pivotal mistake will bring them together again. Some say the fate of angels is tragic because their purity is no match for greed and darkness. Can Vader's hidden angels bury their tragedy and bring the beloved Anakin Skywalker to the light side or will their innocence be snuffed out by the darkness?

Anakin longs to hear the sweet sound of his wife's voice and to see Padmé's smile, however his loyalties lie with Darth Sidious. Will he ever get to see her again? And what will she think of him after all these years?

After Padmé gave birth to the Skywalker twins, to prevent her from dying, she was frozen in a special carbonite chamber for twelve years to rejuvenate her health. Padmé was awakened by Obi-Wan Kenobi and Bail Organa seven years ago, and decided to join the Rebel Alliance's fight against the Empire. She has become one of the leaders of the Rebel Alliance, but remains in the shadows to protect herself and her children from the Empire and from Darth Vader. But when Padmé and Leia embark on a mission to Tatooine to bring Obi-Wan Kenobi to Alderaan to aid them in their struggle with the Empire, she catches a certain Sith Lord's attention. *3 main ships: Padmé/Vader | Anakin, Han/Leia, and Luke/Original male character. This fic also includes Jedi!Leia. Note that this fic is posted on AO3 as well. And obviously, this is a fanfic, so I don't own these characters, or Star Wars.
